What we do

Church

Church simply means ‘gathering’ or ‘assembly’ and down through the 2 millennia since Jesus’ life, death and resurrection, Christians around the world have met together to celebrate and share the message of Jesus.

At WSCCC Strathfield 9am & 4:30pm English services we meet each week we together to sing, pray and hear a 30 minute talk from the Bible.  It’s all about Jesus:

  • who Jesus is
  • what Jesus did in history 2000 years ago
  • what God continues to do in the world
  • and God’s good plan for us and the world through  Jesus’ and his life-saving, life-changing work

Our services are informal and relaxed and we welcome people of all ages and backgrounds.

Small Groups

At WSCCC Strathfield, we hold a variety of Small Groups for fellowship, prayer and study of the Bible in our English language ministry.

Our Small Groups are at the heart of the life of our church and the key to our growth as Christians and individuals. At these Small Groups that people really grow in their knowledge, love and service of God and each other.

Small Groups are groups of about 10-15 people, often meeting in the homes of members of the church. They usually begin with snacks and socialising (maybe even a meal), followed by the Small Group leader leading a discussion focusing on the study and application of the Bible. If you’re visiting a Small Group you can participate in the discussion as much or as little as you’re comfortable with. Groups usually end by taking some time to pray.

We know people are busy, so depending on your age, location and availability we have Small Groups that run weekly and monthly throughout different locations in Sydney.  Some are well catered for families with young children.

If you would like to join a group, contact small groups coordinator, Angie Ng, or one of the pastors.

Nurturing Children

We love for children to come and join us on Sundays! One of our great aims is that our children would hear about Jesus in a way that is fun and relevant. We want to be a place where children encounter Jesus in teaching and in worship.

Our children’s programs are a safe and secure place where children are loved and accepted because of who God has made them and is making them to be. And most of all it is a place where children have fun!

We know family plays the most important role in the discipleship of children, and we want to be a place where families learn, grow, and find encouragement. There are a wide variety of children’s programs available for families

Reaching out with God’s Love

Jesus commands his followers to “love your neighbour as yourself” (Matthew 22:39) – and so at Strathfield English we seek to find ways in which to seek out and love our neighbours and our neighbours in the global village – especially those in great need.

As a church and as individuals we’re passionate about sharing God’s love and devote ourselves to supporting a wide variety of projects to reach out locally and around the globe.

Check some out here: http://wsccc.org.au/reaching-out/

‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’

Matthew 22:36-40
