Who We Are

WS Strathfield is an energetic, multi-cultural, cross-generational congregation excited about the gospel of Jesus Christ! Currently, over 200 people across all ages regularly attend our two congregations, Strathfield 9am and 430pm.

We seek to maintain a tradition of strong biblical teaching through our Sunday services as well as our associated ministries. Our congregation has a culture of being committed to growing, serving, and training in ministry. Although we are part of a Chinese church, our ministry is to people of all backgrounds.

Each Sunday, we gather together to sing songs praising Jesus, pray together and hear a 30-minute talk from the Bible, which is then followed by morning or afternoon tea. You can wear whatever you’d like, stay for as long or as little as you want, and can feel free to simply sit back and see what we are about. After our 9am service, we also have Sunday School available for primary school children.

With the world facing the Covid-19 pandemic, we currently have a fixed capacity for how many people can attend our in-person services. Please find out more about our Covid guidelines and register to attend below:

9am: https://s9.eventbrite.com.au/

4:30pm: https://s430.eventbrite.com.au/

For those who are unable to join us in person, join us via our live stream on our YouTube Channel.

WS Strathfield also has small groups that are comprised of a mix of online and in-person meetings. To find out more and to get connected with us, fill in a response form!

Our Pastors

Andrew Bardsley

Andrew Bardsley

On the outside, Andrew looks like a regular north coast (Ballina!) surfie. But on the inside, Andrew is a nerdy academic – he loves to read and research. Now that he has finished a Master of Divinity (at Sydney Missionary and Bible College) and Master of Arts (Theology), he’s doing further study.

Andrew also has a BA and DipEd and was a high school visual arts teacher. He loves to use his creativity to come up with imaginative ways to explain God’s amazing message of freedom in the Bible.

Andrew is married to Krissie, and they have three young children.

Wayne Mok

Wayne Mok

Wayne is originally from Hong Kong, but spent much time moving between Australia, Canada, and the United States. Wayne and his new wife Veronica, who studied in Sydney, arrived at WSCCC in January 2020.

He studied theology at Wheaton College in the US and Regent College in Canada, and worked for churches in New York and Hong Kong before moving to Sydney. In his spare time, Wayne enjoys travelling, reading, watching basketball and anything jazz!

Daniel Chieng

Youth Pastor

Dan works part-time as a youth pastor at WSCCC and part-time as a hospital pharmacist. He was born in Malaysia, and is fluent in English and Mandarin.  He moved to Australia in high school and is a graduate of Sydney Missionary and Bible College. He is newly married to the lovely Kathryn.

Dan became a Christian when he was 14 years old at a youth camp.  He received the calling to serve in ministry when God revealed to him that the harvests are plentiful but the workers are few (Matt 9:37-38).  He is passionate about seeing more people coming to know Jesus!

Dan also enjoys a good bubble tea, badminton, catching up with friends, karaoke, Marvel movies and fishing.  Hit Dan up if you’re also a keen fisherman like him!
