• Announcement from the Diaconate: Notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting for church members will be held at 12:30pm, Sunday September 30, 2018 at the Strathfield chapel. During this meeting, election of deacons for 2018-2020 will take place. The nominees are: Cantonese – Richard Chiu, Leo Lam, Harry Law, Kit Ling, William Sit, Carrie Tang; English – Anthony Choong, Desmond Chu, Anna Lee, Daniel Ng, Lily Shen, Joshua Yeung; Mandarin – Samuel Chan, Vincent Cheung, Frank He, Ben Qian, Changjie Song, Simon Wu. There will also be an extraordinary motion for voting – To accept Jacqui Ng as long-term missionary of the church. All background reports, agenda, and profiles will be distributed on September 9.
• Welcome Home Lunch on 9 Sep 2017, 12:30pm in Strathfield Church Hall: Phil and Irene arrived back in Sydney on 13Aug and are home assignment for 6 months. Alex & Naomi have been back in Sydney since late 2017 but have only just started their home assignment in June 2018. Come along to welcome them back and encourage them. Please bring a plate of food to share with others.
• Faith Promise Giving 2018/19: At the end of August, we have received 164 slips totalling $211,544 against our target of $225,000 via 200 slips. We have also received enough for our 1st quarter’s support to be sent out. Give thanks for God as he continually provides for what is needed to fulfil our commitment to our missionaries from a finance perspective. Please continue to pray for our missionaries, the people they minister to and give thanks to God for continually providing what is needed.
• Operation Christmas Child: sending shoe boxes with items and the gospel to children in need. More information on a church shoebox packing day is coming soon. But for now, please feel free to take a box and register it. You can either bring your items and $10 for delivery to our packing day, or hand in a completed box with the $10 delivery fee to Koorong by the 27th of Oct.
