Bulletin Announcements – 17 July 2016

  • Sunday School: Holiday program is on for today. We encourage Year 5 and 6 to join our English Service during those weeks. Term 3 will be back on 24 July (Sunday school) and 19 July (Play Group).

 

  • Faith Promising Giving – We have received 136 Faith Promises totalling $201,047. Give praise and thanks to our God for this fantastic response and answer to prayer.

 

  • Lepelaars are home. Our missionaries in Cambodia (Bonnie & Rolf with their children, Jasmine & Samuel) arrived back in Sydney on July 2nd. They have finished their term in Cambodia with CMS and will be on 6 months home assignment. A welcome home lunch will be held at Strathfield Hall on July 24th at 12:30pm. Bring a dish and come along to welcome and encourage the Lepelaars.

 

  • Diaconate Announcement: At the Annual General Meeting on 25 September 2016, election of deacons for the next Diaconate term will take place and 5 Deacons from each ‘Language Congregation’ will be elected. A Deacon Nomination Committee from each ‘Language Congregation’ has been formed and their names are listed below: Cantonese Congregation (C0845 and C1030): Jack Lai, Winnie Chan, Rose Wong, Carrie Tang; Mandarin Congregation (Strathfield Mandarin and CPM): Ching Ping Chan, Luke Zhang, Ley Bee Tio, Paul Lim; English Congregation (S9 English and CP10): Leslie Lee, Lydia Tan, Anthony Choong, Arthur Teng. If you have considered serving in the Diaconate or you might want to nominate someone in your congregation to serve in the Diaconate, please first contact the Deacon Nomination Committee of your ‘Language Congregation’ and discuss with them. Please note that the closing date for all deacon nominations is 12 August 2016.

 

  • Salt 2016: Salt is a series of forums and events designed to help us: Speak, Act, Live and Think like Christ in regard to the various issues that face our world and society. This year Salt will run over four Wednesday evening from 10 – 31 August (7:30 – 9:30pm at CP10). Our topics this year are: ‘A Christian Perspective On – Euthanasia/assisted dying (10 Aug); Social media (17 August); Global Terrorism (24 August); and Food For Thought (31 Aug). Please mark these dates on your calendar and plan to come and bring a friend. Promotional material will be available soon.
