Bulletin Announcements – 14 October 2018

Following this year’s AGM, we thank God that the following deacons have been elected for the 2018-2020 term. Please pray for them in their ministry of overseeing the church, together with the pastoral team. The office-bearers have already been appointed at the first Diaconate meeting in October. The deacons are:
 Cantonese: Richard Chiu, Leo Lam, Harry Law, Kit Ling, William Sit, Carrie Tang.
 English: Anthony Choong, Desmond Chu, Anna Lee, Daniel Ng, Lily Shen, Joshua Yeung.
 Mandarin: Samuel Ching Ping Chan, Vincent Cheung, Frank He, Ben Qian, Changjie Song, Simon Wu.

Following the EGM, we also thank God that the members have voted to send Jacqui Ng as a long-term missionary of the church, serving in Singapore with OMF. Please pray for her as she plans to depart in January 2019.

Baptism Preparation Course: The combined WSCCC Baptism class will be on held on Sunday November 25. If you’d like to baptised, or are considering baptism, join our Baptism course: Sunday October 21 and 28, 10:30am-12pm. Contact Pastor Andrew Bardsley for more details.

Quiz Worx is coming to church for two puppet shows, named ‘Let the Children Come’, in 8:55 and 10:30 Sunday school on 21st October. We welcome you invite children to join us.

We will be holding a Fundraiser Concert for the church development project on Saturday, November 3 at 3pm at the Strathfield chapel. Enjoy an afternoon of classical and worship music performed by talented members and friends of the church. The programme includes a variety of ensemble and solo musical items, plus light refreshments. Grief and Loss Seminar: What is grief and loss? Do you know someone who has suffered it? Have you? How do you deal with it? How do we help others who are going through it? On Wednesday the 7th of November at 7:30pm in the Upper Hall you’re invited to hear from Lindy Hadges, a Christian counsellor, who specialises in psychotherapy and has a lot of experience working with people who have suffered grief and loss.

Next Gen 2019: Do you want to grow as a disciple and disciple maker for Jesus Christ? Then come along to Next-Gen Youth/Young Adult Conference from 14-18 January 2019. You will be trained to have a better understanding of the Bible and will also receive encouragement and training on preparing talks and Bible studies for youth or children’s ministry. How To Pray For Overseas Missions and Missionaries: On Friday, 26 October (7:30pm–9:30pm in the CP10 hall) Phil and Irene Nicholson will conduct a seminar on how to help us better engage and pray for the work of our missionaries. Everyone is welcome.
