  • Christmas Service – invite your friends and family to come join us as we celebrate Christmas at 9am. Sam Chan will be speaking on ‘What can Hollywood teach us about Christmas’.
  • Alex and Naomi Fung – the Fungs have returned to Japan after further testing and medical advice in Sydney. Thank God that the diagnosis has been good and that they have been able to spend time catching up with friends and family. Pray for Alex’s health as they return to winter in Japan and continue their language study and ministry in Sapporo which will be very cold.

Ariel writes – a weekly Scriptural devotion:

Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. – Colossians 3:5 NIV

These are sins that belong to our earthly nature, they have no place in heaven. They are an affront to God’s character and a warping of His image within us. They are perverse and idolatrous yet they are also familiar and favourable. Yes, too often we welcome them in, we feed them, clothe them, and even take them to bed. Finally, we dream about them and let them run unfettered in our head. But God commands us to kill them. Commit premeditated murder against them. “Put to death!” He says. No mercy to be shown. No quarter to be given. Yet, how many of us are truly that ruthless with our sins? How many of us hate, abhor, and loath our sins so much that we dream about their demise? The Lord Jesus, who willing allowed Himself to be “put to death” to save you from them, does. Will you not do the same for His name’s sake?
