Ariel writes – a weekly scriptural devotion:
“No one, sir,” she said. “Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.” (John 8:11 NIV)
God-likeness – What does it look like? Here is a woman caught in adultery. The Jewish Leaders throw her before Jesus, like salivating dogs, looking to trap Him. Will He condemn her and have her stoned or will He ignore her sin and have her freed? Some people like to condemn sinners, like proud Pharisees they point fingers and throw disgusting looks. Quick to judge sinners, slow to forgive them. Others tend to ignore sins, they treat them as trivial and oh so common. Quick to forgive sins, slow to judge them. Notice, Jesus does neither. He forgives her but also condemns her sin. This is God-likeness! On the one hand, His love, grace, and mercy pours out and overflows, it covers, and clothes her in righteous dress. On the other hand, His staff, sceptre, and sword sharply falls upon her sin and severely cuts it in two. Oh, that we would do the same in our lives, in our homes, and in our churches! Yet, we thank you Lord Jesus for your God-likeness upon our souls and sins.

+ Car for the Lau family to use next year. The Laus are returning from Malaysia for Home Assignment December 21 after 4 years of faithful service. They will be with us for a year and need a reliable family size car to use. Could you help?
+ Children Ministry Announcement: Quiz Worx’s puppet show is coming to us on 24 November 2013. The show is titled “The Saviour of the World.” There will be 2 performances: 9am at our English service and 10.30am in Sunday school hall. Invite your friends! Celebrate the birth of our Saviour.
