Bulletin Announcements – 7 October 2012

  • We warmly welcome Enoch Law as our preacher this week. Some of our congregation are away at the houseparty at Stanwell Tops.
  • Children’s Ministry Announcement: There will be no Holiday Program today. Term 4 will recommence on 14 October. Playgroup term 4 will recommence on 9 October.
  • AGM Announcement: Notice is given hereby to all members to attend an Annual General Meeting called by the Diaconate, to be held today at 12:30pm, at the Chapel of the church. In the agenda of the AGM, beside election of deacons and other regular items, there will be a special motion, “The diaconate requests the members to approve CPM to be established as a branch church of West Sydney Chinese Christian Church”.
  • By God’s grace, Andrew and Joanna Wong (with Emily) will officially be leaving to become missionaries in Japan, having received full financial and prayer support! They will leave on 29 October. Please join us in affirming them at their commissioning service for all their supporting churches at 3pm, Saturday 20 October at WSCCC Strathfield. They will also hold a Farewell Open House on Saturday 27 October at 19 Corona Ave, Roseville – drop in anytime after 2pm to say hello and goodbye to the Wong’s!
  • Taiwan Info Afternoon – Saturday 3rd Nov. 1.15pm at WS church hall in Strathfield:  Aaron and Amy will be leaving for Taiwan next year.  They would love to share with you how God will be using them there.  Come along to encourage and support them.
  • OMF – Target Asia – Saturday 20 October, 9.30am – 12:30pm (stay for Lunch $5), at Croydon Park@10 Church Hall. Missions is about partnership. God calls all of us to get involved. Without supporters and senders, no-one can go but there are so many ways to serve. At Target Asia, as well as praying, we will celebrate partnership and explore Six Ways to Serve.
  • Announcement from the Diaconate: After surgical treatment for his neck injury, Rev. Ariel Kurilowicz is now in the process of rehabilitation.  However this is usually a slow process that takes many months. As Pastor Ariel has used up his leave entitlement and needs to be on no-pay leave from the month of October, the diaconate has decided to hold an appeal for Pastor Ariel and his family on the Sunday of 21 October. After the general offering is taken, an extra collection will be taken from all congregations as a love gift from brothers and sisters to Pastor Ariel and his family. Please consider prayerfully and give generously in cash or cheque payable to Ariel Kurilowicz.
  • Baptism. If you are interested in being baptised on 25 November at Strathfield, please let one of the deacons know ASAP.
