Welcome to Missions month at cp11. Our theme this year is “Messing up Missions!”. We look forward to learning how (not) to do that. Today our speaker is our youth and young adults pastor, Andrew Wong. He and his family are preparing to head out to Japan as missionaries with OMF. Over the course of this month we pray we would become more convinced that God’s heart is for all the peoples of the earth – a task we are called to cooperate with, a task too important to mess up.
We give thanks for the 25 people being baptised at the combined baptism service last Sunday. They are Jennifer Backhus, Iris Chan, Tim Chan, Toby Li, Andrew Lin, Chris Lin, Melissa Lin, Shelley Qian, Christine Su, Gavin Tat, Daniel Tieu, Jenny Lin, Stephanie Lin, Joanna Chen, Simon Li, Susanna Yau, Thomas Yau, Ping Guan, Carol Li, Eva Lin, Xin Yuan Shui, Lisa Wang, Freda Wu, Maggie Yin and Mei Ling Zhang.

With a great speaker like Phil Nicholson and a top rate venue like Stanwell Tops we look forward to an excellent weekend away together. As part of his preparation for long term mission work in Japan, Pastor Andrew Wong will be visiting, sharing and preaching and at a variety of other churches to share about the Gospel needs of Japan. As a result he will occasionally be missing from WSCCC on Sundays. If you are interested to know more, please feel free to ask Andrew, Joanna or any of the deacons.
The Cantonese Men’s Fellowship will hold a public meeting on the Life Journey of Men to explore the challenges faced by men at different stages of their life. All men of different ages are welcome to participate. The group for the single men will be conducted in English but the rest will be in Cantonese. Rev. Law will also give a short talk.
