On the outside, Andrew looks like a regular north coast (Ballina!) surfie. But on the inside, Andrew is a nerdy academic – he loves to read and research. Now that he has finished his Master of Divinity (at Sydney Missionary and Bible College) he will study a Master of Arts (Theology).
Andrew also has a BA and DipEd and was a high school visual arts teacher. He loves to use his creativity to come up with imaginative ways to explain God’s amazing message of freedom in the Bible.
Andrew is married to Krissie, and they have
two three young children.
When you drop off your kids at creche, 9amites or Sunday School, you will see Liza. She is our Children’s Ministry Coordinator.
Liza loves telling stories to children. Her interests range from serious stuff (teaching God’s Word to children) to some ridiculous stuff (the internet is the best place to find this!).
Liza’s husband, Kian Holik, is a senior staff worker with AFES (Australian Fellowship of Evangelical Students). They have two sons – Josiah and Joel.
Liza grew up in Indonesia and studied in the USA, where she graduated from Calvin Theological Seminary, Michigan, with a Master of Arts in Christian Studies. After this, she taught and has been involved with children’s ministry in Indonesia for 7 years before moving to Australia where she continued in Sunday School and playgroup ministry in different churches, before coming to WSCCC.
He looks like any Russian mafia-gangster that you see in the movies. And his last name is never pronounced correctly in a Chinese church.
Ariel was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He moved to Sydney at a very young age and grew up in Parramatta. He is a graduate of Sydney Missionary and Bible College.
Before serving us at WSCCC, Ariel worked for 12 years at St Jude’s Anglican Church in Carlton, Melbourne as a youth and young adults minister.
Ariel loves Jesus heaps and reckons he’s the most blessed bloke in the world because he’s married to Kirsty – his beautiful wife – and is the father of three gorgeous girls and one adventurous boy. Ariel also loves meat, movies, books, chilli and riding his 150cc scooter around town.
Update: As most of you know, in September 2012, Ariel had a motorbike accident and injured his neck spinal cord at the level of C3/C4, leaving him an incomplete quadriplegic.
As a result of your prayers, Ariel is making an amazing recovery. But there is still no guarantee that he will walk again, so he needs our daily prayers! You can follow Ariel’s progress on this blog which is updated 2-3 times per week. (http://www NULL.wsccc NULL.org NULL.au/prayingforariel)
When you visit us at strathfield 9am, you will hear Keith preaching God’s message from the Bible to us.
Keith is our interim minister, while Ariel continues to recover on sick leave.
Keith is married to Janette and they have two adult daughters and three grandchildren.
