1. Bulletin Announcements – 23 July 2017

    • Mission Faith Promise Giving: Our 2017/18 target is $213,000 across 180 returned slips. As of July 17th, we have received a total of $125,730 across 117 returned slips. If you have not put in a return slip, it is not too late to partner with our missionaries and support them financially.
    • We thank God for the ordination of Rev Andrew Bardsley last Sunday and that God may continue to bless his ministry to WSCCC. We also wish to thank Jocelyn Lin, the Ladies Fellowship and everyone who had helped out organising the service and providing a beautiful afternoon tea after the ordination service.
    • The Diaconate will hold two information meetings for all church members to share about the Church Development Plan. During the past 2 years, the Diaconate has been discussing the changing needs of our congregations, as well as our statutory requirements regarding our building facilities. The result is a 3-4 year master plan to renovate and develop our church buildings. The first meeting at 1pm,Sunday July 30 will include a sharing of the vision, our needs, a presentation by the appointed architect, and the financial planning. An information booklet will be distributed and explained on that day to all for your reading and prayerful consideration. A second meeting will be held at 1pm, Sunday August 27 for further questions and discussions from members. A final decision to proceed will be made by a members’ vote during the Annual General Meeting on Sunday September 24. All meetings will be held at WSCCC Strathfield. Please join us for these meetings.
    • Salt 2017: The theme for this year’s CP10 August SALT forums is: ‘Living As Christians In A Post-Christian society’. The topics will cover the meaning of ‘post-Christian society’ and how we can evangelize, engage with the media, and raise children in this secular environment. These forums will take place over four Wednesday evenings (9th – 30th Aug, 7:30pm). Post card invites will be available soon. See our website and Facebook page for more details.
    • FAREWELL (temporarily) to Wendy Gao who will spend one semester at the University of Nottingham, UK. We look forward to seeing you again in early 2018.

    • Mission Faith Promise Giving: Our 2017/18 target is $213,000 across 180 returned slips. As of last Sunday, we have received a total of $110,623 across 95 returned slips. Please continue to pray that God will enable us to achieve the targets and give thanks for what we have received to date. Please also be praying for our 7 long term missionary families and also the following doing a short term mission (Jasmine Lepelaar in Fiji, Andrew Lin in SE Asia, Jacqui Ng in Singapore OMF HQ, Alex Tan in Amsterdam from late July 2017).
    • Ordination of Andrew Bardsley: The Diaconate is pleased to announce that Andrew Bardsley will be ordained as a minister of WSCCC. He has undergone interview by an ordination panelconsisting of ministers from WSCCC, representatives from SCCCA and other churches, and affirmed by the Diaconate. His Ordination Service will occur at 2pm today at WSCCC Strathfield. Please join us in giving thanks and affirming the Reverend-designate Andrew Bardsley in his ministry.
    • Sunday school will have holiday program for today. Term 3 will start 23 July for Sunday school and 18 July for Play Group.

    • Welcome home Wayne, Angela & Eunice Chen who arrived on 6th July. Wayne and Angela will be staying for a year and Eunice will be continuing her tertiary education in Sydney. If you would like for Wayne and Angela to share in your groups, please contact eric_pl_chung@com.au.
